Commemoration of the Holocaust Victims at Sosonky forest
77 years ago, the majority of the Jewish community of Rivne were killed in Sosonky forest. On November 6-7, 1941, the Nazis killed about 17,500 Jews here.
In July 1942, with the elimination of Rivne ghetto, the occupation authorities completed the destruction of the Jewish community of the town. The Jewish part of Rivne disappeared.
On the date of this tragic event, on Sunday, November 4, 2018, an action was held to commemorate the memory of Rivne Holocaust victims. The representatives of the local community gathered at the initiative of Rivne Regional Charitable Foundation "Hesed Osher" to commemorate the victims in Sosonky forest.
