Project "Creating Instruments to fight anti-Semitism and xenophobia"

Recently, presentations of the documentary videos of NGO “Mnemonics” completed the project "Creating Instruments to fight anti-Semitism and xenophobia" with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine Democracy Promotion Fund.

Within the framework of the project we created:
  • The board game "The missing town". It introduces students to the multicultural and multi-denominational history of the interwar Rivne, a town that disappeared during World War II. The board game was distributed to the teachers of the city of Rivne and the region during seminars at the Rivne Regional Institute of Postgraduate Teacher Education;
  • The wall calendar "Multicultural Rivne" for the year 2019. It integrates the Ukrainian-Polish-Jewish past of the city in the prism of social history; the photographs have preserved the images of the townspeople of the interwar period and propose the reconstruction of the then urban space;
  • Documentary animation about the fate of Jews in Rivne ghetto – "Doomed: the history of Rivne ghetto". The video reveals the tragedy of the victims of Nazism and suffering of Rivne Jews in the ghetto during World War II.

As part of the project, the documentary videos of NGO “Mnemonics” were presented to the high school students from more than 10 schools in the city and students from three universities.

The project was implemented by NGO “Mnemonics” with the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine Democracy Promotion Fund.
